  1. Review - GenieTexter

    0.83 Beta (Feb 5, 2008)

GenieTexter is a great little application. It is a front end to web-based messaging services.

The developers go out of their way to help integrate new web based SMS sites into the application and this is done by downloading the scripts using the application.

The Application itself doesn't require you to sign up to anything -- but of course you will to sign up with at least one Web Based SMS service to use it. Once you have signed up to a service, then you can download the applicable script to enable you to use the application to send the messages rather than having to login to the website directly.

I use the BT (50 per month free/non-replyable) and also the Finarea sites (www.smsdiscount.com is one of them) which has very reasonably priced SMS rates (sometimes free to certain countries).

It also has a POP3 checker built in which allows you to check for New email on a POP3 mail server and then be notified via SMS - useful if you are out and about and are waiting for an important email. There is also filtering by name/subject so it only notifies you of certain messages.

Definitely worth downloading - Give it a try.
