4.0.223.16 Beta (Nov 3, 2009)
long time opera user and not too much of a fan of google chrome because of issues in the past with imbedded multimedia. but i'll admit, chrome rocks on javascript heavy sites. then yesterday, chrome crashed, may have been a zonealarm issue (8, but it was only one tab! my other 13 tabs were still humming along. still an opera fanboy, but chrome is infinitely better than it used to be.
10.01 Build 1844 Final (Oct 27, 2009)
opera & firefox are my 1-2 browsers. opera always works straight out of the box. sometimes it's a wrestling match to get all my add-ons to work with the latest nightly. and when ff won't play imbedded media, it's opera to the rescue. great browser.
9.0.112.000 (Sep 24, 2009)
the trouble folks have with zonealarm, or any other software product, is they don't understand the way some products conflict. if there are remnants of norton, comodo, outpost, whatever, they're going to have problems with any software firewall. i've used trials of nearly every software firewall, and zonealarm always keeps ending up back on my machines.
10.00 Build 1708 Beta (Aug 14, 2009)
i'm a longtime opera fanboy, but also a minefield fanboy. i would probably only use opera, if not for the fact i can't get opera to work with flickr. so i have to bring up a minefield (ff nightly) window to upload pics, etc. but other than my flickr problem, opera works with everything else, right out of the box. ie is getting a lot better, but opera and ff (try both, or either, you'll like 'em) are what ie shoulda been a long time ago.
10.0 Build 1413 Alpha (Apr 4, 2009)
i typically bounce back and forth between opera & minefield, liking them both. but the early peregrine builds have been less than inspiring. however, build 1413, with its turbo mode (whether it's doing anything or not) and spell checker is intriguing. a built in flash & ad blocker would be really nice. actually, if you read between the lines for just a minute (or momentarily turn on the thinking organ), this is tremendous news. small newspapers continuously are getting bought out by media conglomerates due to falling readerships. your news is becoming less and less objective everyday. pretty soon, your daily dose of news will be coming from the government sponsored news agency. sound orwellian? go ahead and laugh it up, chuckles.
