and also, it defaults the installation directory to C:\Fraps ???? how INCREDIBLY cheap is that by these days? my god...
10.10 Build 1874 Beta (Nov 14, 2009)
Superlative software as usual, but the rendering engine still has incompatibilities and crap with many sites and some kinds of controls, as usual.
I wonder if they could ever dump their stupid broken engine and grab Webkit which is so fast and good at Java, and forget about the problematic Presto. Or otherwise, just FIX IT, which they haven't done in so many years...
What do you think about that, besides being unlikely?

Tools like this should NEVER add services in the background NOR release crappy versions just to cash on you when they are out of ideas.
Punishment.

New interface looks horribly amateur, and unfortunately it doesn't record video in other format than the very bulky AVI, not even in the paid version...
Besides, only bmp in free version? being almost 2010, bmp? Getting JPG is not a compelling reason to buy it as long as i can convert the bmps, just a silly nag.
This should just be freeware
4.1.0.15 Beta (Oct 29, 2009)
@netean: 70MB for 5 accounts is resourcy? you must love 1997 and barebone applications. who cares...
Anyway, always felt awkward, still does, probably always will.

4.1.0.15 Beta (Nov 19, 2009 - 1:02 PM)
Just one straight thing: This matter of developing IE for all those crappy outdated sites is a KICK IN THE NUTS. IE's development is a mess having to do both old and new and with not-so-bright developers in charge. But in the end... that's the price you pay when you make things your own stupid way and have to fix it later.
4.1.0.15 Beta (Nov 19, 2009 - 12:47 PM)
yah, but WMP is nowhere as critical as a program or update as IE is.
4.1.0.15 Beta (Nov 18, 2009 - 11:34 PM)
That's not the philosophy of anyone in Betanews. Go to some some Finalnews site with that question.
4.1.0.15 Beta (Nov 5, 2009 - 8:26 PM)
Bottom Line: we shouldn't have to choose between Security or Speed. Security just shouldn't have an impact on speed, or in a more real-world example, it should just keep it to a bare minimum. That's it.
