speed?
Wow now if that isn't the concern of someone who goes out and uses IE and then complains about the spyware. You pay for a browser like IE just cause it has tabs you need help. There is a program that will slap tabs on to IE if you really want them. Seriously though go with opera. You'll get the most secure browser and the only one that obeys w3c standards for free.

Ah I love when people rally insults against another before giving any thought to the situation. Allow me to help you think with this question, do you have a better method for distributing your music world wide with no money?
For many emerging artists this portal is the only way that they can become known and then afterwords believe it or not people actually go out and pay money for the physical copy. P2p networks are often used to sample music this way and in fact are causing a great boom in sales because of it. So next time give some thought before making a comment.

Confirms? If you heard that SCO is sue happy somewhere then the source is sadly mistaken. Sue happy refers to a company that is big enough money wise to sue other companies into the dirt and allow them to establish a monopoly. (funny how little capitalism works isn't it :=) )
Nonetheless SCO is where the ownership rights to Unix ended up shortly before Linux came out making buying the rights a large waste of money. In an attempt to keep their Unix company alive SCO jumped on board and was forced to produce a near free operating *nix as well. They called it Caldera. However, other linux companies that had no other overhead to beat back soon shoved Caldera into the ground. When red hat had finally stolen the market SCO placed a law suit on the field hoping that because of the similarities in the *nixs they would find something too similar. With the money from the suit they hoped to keep their company alive. To this day they have failed to produce matching code.
The real irony in this is that when SCO was producing their Caldera linux they fully supported the open source linux editing network. When their linux failed they suddenly were against all their other linux buds claiming that they were the only ones who had the right to such code.
Not sue happy but dying... They are ust taking a really long time to do it. For the moment though that is good, puts more jobs out there...

The word gay is used to refer to a particular cheerful subject. In our modern world it has been adapted to also refer to a homosexual. However, no where in the definition of the word will you find that it is synonymous with "really bad." This was developed as an attack against homosexuals so that a homosexual person was a "really bad" person. Please note this and act accordingly in the future.
That being said, I agree with you that it actually takes work to get a virus in *nix while with ms you are more exposed. However, to avoid viruses that come in with activex on ms one has but to slap on a firewall and restrict IE access to the internet while making the switch to the opera browser. In fact this move will protect against more than just activex viruses.
It's all about being what is convenient for who you are. If you have the patience and ability to take up linux then have fun with the ultimate defence. However, if this is not an option than there is nothing wrong with ms if you act in an intelligent manner. Sure it is because of ms vulnerabilities that companies can make money but I fail to see the problem of having more jobs out there. Also if you do not want to pay pick up zone alarm, AVG, opera web browser, and your choice out of a host of spyware protection (I recommend HijackThis with a backup of ad-aware) and your good to go. That being said I believe you mean real OSs not real computers, and I beg to differ. Clearly ms is real.

This is starting to annoy me. There is no "all" as the adware goes right out. How does your router protect you from the adware downloads bring in such as that infered by the "all" in your post? Also "it is a way for companies to make money" makes everyone know that you are completely knowledgeless. Yes know not think. Not only does it say right above the post box that personal attacks are not permited, you also had no right to make any attack. It would take more than 12 volts to shock you out of your braindead state.
hate to get involved in a cat fight like this,
