2. Comment - Apple: Leopard Will Ship on Time

   I'm not an Apple user. I've never been able to afford it. But it doesn't take a genius to realize that if your operating system is proprietary and you control the hardware on which it runs in addition to not having to deal with "backwards compatability" issues, you're going to have a better, more stable product. The fact that Vista is offering features that Apple has had for some time is symptomatic of that. Having said that, the reason M$ has the market share they do and will continue to dominate the market is that Windows will operate on a variety of platforms and usually supports that old program (or two or three) that I can't dispense with or justify the cost for a replacement. The discussion of which platform is better is irrelevant. Of course, Mac is better. Am I going to buy one? No.

4. Comment - Studios Approve DVD Burning Technology

   It's nice to see someone posting intelligent opinions backed up with reference to the actual, applicable laws. However, in response to your contention that things will change when consumers rebel against the draconian measures currently being imposed, you don't take into account the stubbornness of people and organizations and their resistance to change. I participated in a decades long boycott of the Kmart corporation. Did they ever change? No. Did it affect their business in a significant way? Yes. People reminisce on "the way things used to be" and there is a significant proportion of the populace in this country that has said "enough is enough" and have refused to accept content with gratuitous sex and gore that add nothing to the content of movies and songs. Yet when royalty paying rental services provided "cleaned up" content and rented videos to this significant segment of consumers, the industry shut them down. We have voted with our feet and no longer rent from any rental service. I don't believe we are the only ones in this great country of ours who have done this. If the industry changes direction, however, I will be greatly surprised.

5. Comment - Office 2007 'Stun Switch' Nothing New

   I know we have to use M$ Office at work, but with Open Office which just flat WORKS, does anyone still use M$ Office at home? Any problem with it at work is IT's problem and the rest of us can just ignore it on our own machines. So, who cares?
