0.4.154.23 Beta (Nov 21, 2008)
Best designed browser. Not as functional as FF with plug-ins, yet, but I didn't use plug-ins with FF anyways.
The point of Chrome is that it's very fast and stable, and there is very little browser taking up screen space instead of the pages you're viewing.
Also, always assume that your internet habits are being logged no matter what browser or ISP you use, because they are.
8.0.1.11 (Oct 4, 2008)
Usability, design, features, performance...
All lacking considerably.
I like the iPod as far as hardware goes. The software, both firmware and iTunes, is the reason I'll be getting a different brand for my next MP3 player.
2.3.1.1 (Sep 27, 2008)
Most of the comments are right on.
This browser is generic, and also geriatric in it's philosophy.
2.3.0.3 Beta (Sep 4, 2008)
Decent browser, but there's no reason to use it...
It doesn't offer anything that FF doesn't. With IE, FF, Safari, and now Chrome, there is no reason for another browser unless it offers something unique.
11.0 Beta 3 (Aug 7, 2008)
preinterpost is correct. Decent app, but 7zip has an interface akin to WinRar and up to 2/3 better compression than 2.71, plus its open source and free.
11.0 Beta 3 (Sep 18, 2009 - 7:14 PM)
"you want Google to make apps that no one can take advantage of?"
Apple users make up less than 5% of computer users online world wide. The iPhone has less than 0.4% of online market share.
Google has enough search share to lose 5% and still be well ahead of Yahoo/MS. However, with Apple having less than 5% of their market, if any users decided to leave Apple for something else, that could hurt them greatly.
11.0 Beta 3 (Sep 18, 2009 - 6:47 PM)
Apple is an more evil than MS and the Chinese Government put together...
This isn't the only app rejected because it may mean someone can do something with their iPhone that doesn't involve or necessarily help Apple (although it doesn't hurt it either). Next Apple will be book burning...
11.0 Beta 3 (Sep 15, 2009 - 3:16 AM)
carmilevy: "Having a reputation, in any form, is pretty much the point."
That's very wise. Did you consider that a bad reputation is easier to get than a good one, and that most people try to avoid the people that posses them?
People seeking a reputation just for reputations sake always get a bad reputation, deservedly.
11.0 Beta 3 (Sep 15, 2009 - 2:46 AM)
From a software point of view, which you'd think would be Apple's forte, the iPod is absolutely worthless.
It seems that all of the brainpower spent on the iPod went into the hardware and the firmware was a irritating afterthought that was phoned in a couple days before manufacturing began.
Also, iTunes is the result of a group of angry developers using their software to get revenge on the world through constant irritation and lost time. And, it's like they intentionally sabotaged it to run slow on Windows. Apps that maybe should be a little sluggish sometimes like Photoshop CSx or Google Earth run circles around iTunes (basically a simple media library/player).
Apple as a company is more evil than Microsoft and the Chinese Government put together. From their fight with Psystar to their battles to keep users from interacting with the songs they load on their iPod, to their dealings with iPhone apps developers, and the plethora of other examples.

You're right, Tech always out Techs itself.
But, I know people who use their Xbox as their DVD player and don't have internet access at all. Others buy CDs just because they don't have an iPod or other player and wouldn't know how to listen to their music without the physical disc.
While Tech keeps climbing some people are settling on the rungs they feel most comfortable on. Even though BDs are pretty much already obsolete, they will still have a prolonged future of 10+ years in the homes of the uninitiated.
