  1. Review - Google Chrome for Windows

    2.0.158.0 (Jan 24, 2009)

This new release includes form auto filler, this one is auto learning what you type. To activate this feature, go under tools and click options, choose minor tweaks check box. Also includes profiles for individual users in the toolbar. Also when you take any webpage and make it an app, the (ctrl-f) find scrolls down for easy access.

Remember you must download the chromechannel-2.0 and choose developer. Close all chrome windows, launch chrome, wrench, about google chrome, update. Enjoy

  2. Review - JavaHMO

    2.4 (Jan 8, 2009)

Following the Tivo HME developer release came JavaHMO an upgrade from Tivo Desktop designed to give an enhanced user experience. The ability to listen to all your mp3 and favorite Shoutcast stations, Check your email, stocks, View your desktop, Current Events, RSS, and more. The install is a smooth install, but can prove to be a bit bumpy with port access depending on use of firewall controls from Internal & External use. From my experience, the bitstream broadcasting on Tivo's beacon can last for hours but can put a little strain on system resources hard drive activity during mp3 feeds. Results will vary on hardware. Note, Ver 2.4 was the last release all further development was pushed on Galleon.

  3. Review - Advanced SystemCare Free

    Beta 2.10 (Jul 13, 2006)

Product has come a long way since it's first revision. Also, there are two copies of the product this is the free version, but the pro is one for purchase.

  4. Review - Microsoft Windows Vista (32-bit)

    Beta 2 (Jun 8, 2006)

End of Line -- It would appear that only high end pc's that run 800 mhz are allowed to use this new technology unlike the XP model that was backwards compatible with the intel x86 processors. I ran into 2 problems i have a 300 mhz running XP Pro with a DVD-CDRW drive not a dvd rw. Instructions for the the .iso said to burn to a dvd. oh well. Have fun downloading the image.

  5. Review - GMail Drive

    1.0.10 (Apr 20, 2006)

I for one love the program and it's many uses. However, it does trouble may when it gets blocked, for that reason I've withdrawn my use of it because I like my access. It's still being stated that Google has it's own coming just no time frame. Any input when we should see the real version come out or would that fall under "Google Labs"?

  6. Comment - A real beta process at work: Mozilla fires up Firefox 3.6 Beta 2

    1.0.10 (Nov 11, 2009 - 11:54 AM)

To clarify: Here is where you download Beta 3
    Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2b3pre) Gecko/20091111 Namoroka/3.6b3pre

  7. Comment - A real beta process at work: Mozilla fires up Firefox 3.6 Beta 2

    1.0.10 (Nov 10, 2009 - 9:28 PM)

As I mentioned to BetaNews earlier today, Firefox Beta 2 and 3 are available as a nightlybuild. I installed Beta 2 and click check updates, to a surprise Mozilla wanted me to upgrade to 3 for better security and stability. That's odd, so i made the switch now I'm using the latest build.
This means just download Beta 3 since 2 wants to upgrade.

    Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2b3pre) Gecko/20091110 Namoroka/3.6b3pre

  8. Comment - At last! Public Mozilla Firefox 3.6 Beta 1 is live with new Windows 7 support

    1.0.10 (Oct 31, 2009 - 7:56 AM)

As a reminder to XP users this feature everyone is raving about is only for Windows 7 and future releases because of the taskbar modifications MS made for thumbnail previews. Now what I don't know there are Windows 7 transformation packs that also provide the aero glass effect including the new taskbar could it be possible after modifying the browser setting would it be noticeable or would it be blocked?

  9. Comment - Microsoft's free Security Essentials anti-virus tool goes live

    1.0.10 (Sep 29, 2009 - 5:14 PM)

In a matter of a couple weeks, Avast.com will release Avast 5, it's faster, smaller and more powerful than ever. It's even going to include for the first time a firewall built in. I've been testing beta 2 and very impressed. Now in all fairness I did test MSE, it was good but a bit too aggressive for some of my apps and programs. However Kudos for Microsoft to release a not soo buggy product and freely for public use away from the traditional payment plans.

  10. Comment - Google Chrome grows up, joining the realm of everyday exploitability

    1.0.10 (May 7, 2009 - 1:21 PM)

Actually there is a built in feature in all aspects of chrome during install that is installed with it. If you do a ctrl-alt-del look under processes you will see "GoogleUpdate.exe" this function is tied to a channel from the network. I'm attached to the DEV so it sends constant updates, vs beta which is less frequent. Unless you download the channel and change the setting you are on the stable build.

The updater is designed to push the build automatically when available, but to force an update goto the wrench, about google chrome.

Note, this feature will not work on Portable Chrome designed for USB drives.
