  1. Comment - Panel weighs impact of $7.2B broadband stimulus on competition

    (Mar 10, 2009 - 6:56 PM)

I wish I was poor. I could get all those free services, handouts, bailouts, broadband, laptops, food stamps, medical care, education, and...did I forget anything? But I'm just your average tax-paying citizen that gets nothing from the government.

  2. Comment - IBM: Web browsers to change over the next few years

    (Dec 22, 2008 - 6:26 PM)

Web based training is exploding in popularity too. I work for the federal government and used to take at least four training trips a year. Almost all training is done at live time on the web with video conferencing and file sharing. Pretty neat way to cut costs. There is a period of learning and adjusting for new users, but once I caught on I really preferred it.

  3. Comment - Palm to restructure yet again, may cut more jobs

    (Dec 1, 2008 - 7:21 PM)

I'm not a fan of the Centros. Still a fan of their classic Palm Treo 550, 600. The shape, the weight, the workhorse OS, were perfect.

  4. Comment - Microsoft softened 'Vista Capable' requirements for Intel, e-mails indicate

    (Nov 17, 2008 - 9:32 PM)

Good summary of events. So basically Windows rang a cow bell and yelled "Vistas all around" and then slapped the OS on anything with a keyboard. No wonder that grandma sued them when her browser didn't shimmer.

  5. Comment - Christmas shopping not looking so much 'Blu' as dismal

    (Nov 14, 2008 - 8:51 PM)

I echo the comment--the difference between a good upconverting DVD and a blu-ray is minimal, especially if you're watching movies with dark tones like Pirates of the Caribbean series or Harry Potter series. Now, throwing on a free digital copy version that is compatible with either the iphone and the Zune, that would be welcomed. This Digital Copy crap that only works on certain devices suks.
