v24 RC6.2 (Jan 17, 2008)
Best router firmware? Phuh. I say that Tomato is better. Doesn't have all the needless features, but doesn't have all the bugs, either. (And QoS works better.)
12.0.410 (Jan 17, 2008)
It appears they have changed the name back to Media Jukebox, and made it free again. As I've already paid the upgrade fee for version 12, I'm not very happy about this. Not the first time I've been burned in exactly the same way. This is why I don't feel bad looking up serials anymore.
3.6.5 (Dec 31, 2007)
works well when it works. wish it had a MPEG-2 audio decoder.

8.3.6.5 Build 1111 R5 (Nov 25, 2007)
Can’t detect the HyperTransport link frequency at 100MHz, 300MHz, 500MHz. Can’t change HT, FID and VID multiplier. Can’t change a memory clock ratio, can’t change DRAM timings, doesn’t reads a current CPU temperature, doesn’t support AMD Family 10h processors at all. Shows only poor common information on the CPU and the motherboard (using the oldest DMI interface).

It has a lineup of $20 games that the new systems cannot touch (and seemingly never will, "value" games on 360 are $29.99 USD).
Also add in the fact that Wii is essentially a Gamecube with new method of control input and it makes it easy for developers to create two versions of games: an engine that runs on PS3, 360, and PC, and an engine that runs on Wii, PS2, and PSP. The install base for the second group is much larger than the first. That doesn't mean you have to worry about premiere franchises going to the low-end route since 360 still drives software sales, but barrel scraping "casual games" aren't going anywhere either.
One thing Sony has to be careful about it not letting PS2 carry on for TOO long. They're actually indirectly helping Nintendo because a lot of third parties wouldn't create software for that system alone with the sales they are seeing. At some point they have to pull the plug and just price PS3 more competitively or Microsoft will capture the gamers who want to see technological advancement and buy a lot of software because of their passion for the hobby. You might be able to argue that it has happened already.
8.3.6.5 Build 1111 R5 (Jan 31, 2008 - 1:34 PM)
I got FiOS 15Mbps per second in May 2005, and since they they have upped the speed to 20Mbps and the price has not gone up. Coupled with this news, I'll be happy to keep them as my ISP for as long as I can. My experience with Comcast was lousy, and I don't need a company to tell me how to use bandwith that I am paying for.

I agree, but Toshiba likes them enough to include them on their Satellite laptops. I'm still waiting for news from an objective source that points to HD-DVD being anything other than dead by year's end.
8.3.6.5 Build 1111 R5 (Jan 29, 2008 - 1:01 PM)
HD-DVD isn't even Blu-Ray's competition any more, the real question will be if download services catch on before the demand for HD content becomes fully mainstream.

Why does everybody anoint Gartner as some savant? We hired them to do an analysis of our business and what they came back with was absolute garbage. Their interviews made no sense and their final report was nothing more than a useless collection of buzzwords and cliches.
