  1. Review - Station Lock XP

    0.1.0.15 Beta (Sep 13, 2005)

Well, I gotta say that I like the idea behind this program. It does add additional security to my account, and I like that. Even though I could just use the windows welcome screen...I have been wanting to have a quick access lock-out ability while inside my user account. This one works fine, and it has the ability to log all attempts to access my account...I like that function, and windows doesn't have that (at least to my knowledge, there could be some setting or log file somewhere, but windows doesn't make it simple to find, like this program does.)

And now for the bad news. This is obviously a beta program, it has disabled buttons for future functions that aren't in the program just yet, and some of the supposedly active features are puking up error codes. Yes, it is rather redundant in the fact that you already have most of these options in the welcome screen in windows, but some people (such as myself) do not like using the welcome screen.

Overall, it's an ok program, with ok features. If you like the windows welcome screen, I suggest just using that. Otherwise, this program should suit your needs fine (once all of the wrinkles in the program have been ironed out!)

  2. Comment - Apple Launches New TV Commercials

    0.1.0.15 Beta (May 3, 2006 - 2:08 AM)

"But of course ther are less because nobody uses a Mac anyway, so why bother writing a virus nobody is going to catch?"

Well, yes and no. I am not going to tout Macs superiority over PCs, mainly because I only use ibm pc based systems. I'm sorry, but there is just much more available software, hardware and other services for the pc. I do, also, use Linux/unix distros. I haven't yet had to opportunity to use a mac yet, so I'm not going to bash it mercilessly. What I AM going to do, however, is mention some common sense issues with Mac, from a consumer standpoint.

Why would I want to buy a mac when, as previously stated, there is only so much usable hardware and software easily accessible for the consumer?

I'd have to search long and hard to find a store that caters to Mac Addicts...and then I'd probably be totally clueless. The fact is, Windows came out on top of the OS race from the moment they released the first version. There is only room for 1 major company in ANY market. Everything else will always be second best.

Now...I don't know the reasons for all of the glitches and bugs in windows software, but people have to be intentionally looking for them in order to be writing virus code for them. Now tell me how many people care enough about Macs or Linux/Unix boxes in order to write virulii(sp?) that runs on them! It's far more likely that people creating windows based viruses are writing them on a non/windows box. So people from opposing OS viewpoints are attacking the big name companies that they claim to despise with every ounce of thier souls...out of what? Spite? What is so evil and wrong about the Windows OS that makes it soooo prone to viruses? It can only be that MS Windows is the main competitor in the OS market with the largest slice of the population pie...and that makes them, and the population, a much larger, more satisfying target. Why target Mac! They only have (gross underestimation...give me slack) say 10% of the OS market, with MS Windows taking up 82%...with 8% being any remaining OS choices. So hardly anyone makes Mac a virus target because they have fewer customers...not as large a populace to damage.

Ugh...sorry for the long a$$ explaination there.

Seriously folks...no reason to bash...or if you find nothing wrong with what I say, to resort to calling me a moron, or bashing my grammar. (Possibly my extreme over use of the comma and the elipsis, lol)

Looking forware to any comments (play nice boys and girls!)

It amazes me that throughout this entire thread (and others similar in nature to it), some of the people from outside of the US cannot seem to be able to keep the insults and moronic statements to themselves. We make a comment that leaves you with no plausible means of refuting our claims, and so you reply by calling us idiots and bashing our own comments. Well you know what? Here's what I think of that. I'm going to be a rascist little bast@rd. F*ck you, you communist, fascist, British, EU, ugly a$$ed, stuck up, and snot nosed little $hits. We are sick and tired of all your cr@p, and will not put up with it anymore, you hear me? Go back to your little f*cking holes, dig your head in the dirt, and shut the hell up.

Thank you, I'm glad someone agrees with me here. It really isn't about how much book knowlege I currently have, it's about my ideas and opinions. The only bashing that's been done against me was against what info I had that was wrong. But that doesn't makes my entire idea wrong.

Good Grief, I think mr. outofcoffee and squireboy here need to hook up...they are two halves of the same damaged brain. Maybe something they say together might actually be productive rather than destructive. D*mn, what an Idea!

Actually what I said makes pretty good sense...it's not my fault you read like an 8 year old.
