6.01 Build 243 (Apr 6, 2005)
I used 4Dos a lot back in the day, that was... woah, some ten years ago ! It made the command line a whole different world, a much more friendly one.
I discovered through it that a .bat file was not forced to be just a 3 lines batch file : It allowed me to do real little programms, hundreds of lines of it !
I always though that one of my first salaries would be used to purchase it, then I took a close look : 70$?!? for a command line add-on ? Without me pals... I'm no big company, and the command line enhancements in NT/2k's CMD, through their maths & string manipulations functions are good enough for me.
6.21.00 (Feb 17, 2005)
I search years for the perfect CD databse, CATraxx did the trick for me. And then I switched to Linux, oh my !
0.7 (Jun 17, 2004)
Dreimanis, this is what beta software means... Do not use it as your everyday software unless you're prepared to have problems and have a good backup of your data. Tagged 0.7 means for Thunderbird being months away from completion (and being bug free), it's impressive that in its infancy so many people use it as thair default client (I do since 0.5) but it should not let anyone forget that it is still beta software.
On a sidenote, for us who were used to eudora (or OE for that matter) global inbox for several accounts and who always missed that feature in TB : it is now implemented in the test builds and should made its official debuts as a optional feature of 0.8
5.0.590.015 (May 26, 2004)
Running it on WinXP pro on a P2-350 (yeah, I love challenge !) I runs fine for now, even better than v4.x, which had problems to launch trhough my computer boot-up stress... I certainly do not see the problems you guys have. Am I that lucky ?
6.0.0.14 Beta (Jul 23, 2003)
Agreed : v6 has the exact same feeling and features than v5 with the anti-spam added. v5 has the exact same feeling and features than v4 with the added stats, neither of it being a major feature of the client. Calling v6 v4.5 would be far more honnest.
On the other hand, I -as many who started with Eudora a loooong time ago- just cannot find a better client. And God I tried ! But I admit it may be an habit-biased opinion...
6.0.0.14 Beta (Aug 8, 2005 - 11:15 AM)
Yooohoooo ! Betanews, I've got a fantastic news for you : THERE ARE COUNTRIES OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA ! Isn't it fascinating ?
6.0.0.14 Beta (May 19, 2005 - 4:08 AM)
My mobile phone is a Windows Mobile one, and I first played Doom on it two years ago...
6.0.0.14 Beta (Mar 3, 2005 - 2:50 AM)
"Many musicians, journalists and digital music fans rely on the flexibility and durability of the MiniDisc format," said Allan Jason...
Has someone told Allan Jason that those musicians and others (but esspecially musicians) do not care at all about mp3 support ? What they ask for for years is the hability to digitally extract the gigs or rehearsals they just recorded : most MD players have a digital input, wich we don't care about, and no digital output, wich is *the* feature we need. I understand that bot digital input and output would open a door to piracy, but we don't need both, for God's sake, just invert it !
6.0.0.14 Beta (Feb 22, 2005 - 3:23 AM)
If he's so concerned about this, why didn't he start first ? "Oh no ! Google is doing things before I ever think of it ! Bad Google, bad !"
Oh yep, and I'm French too. Please, Betanews editors, don't take the easy path and try to avoid confusions like "one French guy/France"
