3.0 Beta 2 (Dec 18, 2007)
This is the final beta 2. Dec 21 is when the announcement will be made after the websites and mirrors are all updated. The websites have not been updated yet which is why after installation you'll get the message that this isn't the final beta 2.
4.2.5.0 (Sep 16, 2007)
Only complain is that it can't handle files with Unicode characters. At least the free version doesn't.
1.0.0.2 (Mar 20, 2007)
Go to the website for the newest version.
This is my lossy encoder of choice. If you portable player can play it, there's no reason to look elsewhere.
8.0.1223 Beta (Mar 8, 2007)
Surprisingly good. I prefer it to Outlook. Handles my IMAP, Hotmail, and Gmail fine. It doesn't delete my Gmail messages on the server though which is weird.
I only use Outlook for the calendar now.
3.0 Alpha 2 (Feb 7, 2007)
The latest roadmap (updated 11/08/06) says November 2007. Unlike 2.0, 3.0 is a major upgrade. It finally passes Acid2 and for the Mac it uses Cocoa!
3.0 Alpha 2 (Jul 29, 2009 - 10:33 PM)
To be fair, this is not a simple crack. It requires bios modding which even most computer literate people cannot do and which can really crew up your comp. Uber computer geeks will use the crack for their own personal use but that's about it.
3.0 Alpha 2 (Jul 21, 2009 - 2:22 PM)
Looks like even the free books are DRMed pdb (thus the need for credit card info as a key). Come on B&N! It can't be that hard to include epub support.
3.0 Alpha 2 (Jul 21, 2009 - 12:17 PM)
"It's an odd time to launch an e-bookstore, in the wake of Amazon's Orwellian book-deletion shenanigans as we are, but Barnes & Noble is jumping in with both feet."
IMO, that's exactly why B&N decided to release this now. Not "odd time." Perfect time. Kick em while they're down.
3.0 Alpha 2 (Jul 17, 2009 - 1:15 PM)
Hope to see Windows 7 RTM benchmarks soon.
3.0 Alpha 2 (Jul 8, 2009 - 4:11 PM)
I disagree. I think it's more like the birth of Jesus Christ. Will you be martyred for the Google faith?
