  1. Review - nLite

    1.4 RC2 (Oct 11, 2007)

I'm very wary of using a program that modifies your system files in a manner like this...your likely to find trouble when you try to update your system or try to install a demanding product..though, in light of this, its a very good idea, and it looks like it will be handy in the future. I don't intend to be formatting anytime soon (if you have to format, it means you dont know what you're doing!), but hopefully can try it out.

  2. Review - Windows Live Mail

    8.0.1226 Beta (Jun 1, 2007)

I love it. It's much more stable, great GUI and easy to use. OK, so, it doesnt work with gmail? So what!? It's made for Windows Live Mail for goodness sake...Five out of five :)

It doesnt seem to delete any emails on hotmail servers or gmail servers, it seems to download a "local" copy of your emails and work with that, but it's not an issue, seeing as live mail is intended to be a webmail anyway

Another thing, STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT THE ADS!!! If it werent for those ads, you'd have no windows live network at all...!!! And, besides, you can cover the ads with active search!
--> To login as another passport, go in as "work Offline" and it should say "sign in with Windows Live Passport", hit that and it should come up with a login box ;)

  3. Review - Windows Live Messenger

    8.5 Beta (Jun 1, 2007)

I'm not sure what you are complaining about...if it weren't for these ads, the MSN/WLM network would not be able to remain alive. It would have shut down long ago.
Also, having SP2 as a mandatory requirement isn't bad...it makes the computer much more stable, and more compatible.

I give it a five. Very stable, alot faster, and looks great!! :)

  4. Review - Windows Media Player for Windows XP (32-bit)

    11.0.5721.5146 (Mar 18, 2007)

It's pretty good, but still has a few bugs in it, and crashes randomly if you're watching very large videos, or if you have the DFX plugin, other than that, its an awesome version of media player, and it's an essential if you like listening to music. It automatically searches for your music and videos, and puts them into your library.

Definately worthe the upgrade from WMP 9 or 10.
If you want to enhance the sound of media player, use the enhancements integrated which dont seem to make much difference, or you could use DFX 8.0.

    Enjoy!!

  7. Comment - Download Windows Home Server RC1

    11.0.5721.5146 (Jun 14, 2007 - 6:55 PM)

Isnt that page a Invite only page?? From what I gather, you have to get an email invite to be able to get a product key...It's longer than a 30 day trial...you just have 30 days to activate...get it right

I think they realised that they're gonna have to start using MS technology, or they're going to lose their battle..

  9. Comment - Microsoft's Ward Ralston Details GUI-less Windows Server

    11.0.5721.5146 (May 29, 2007 - 5:03 AM)

Well...Microsoft had a great idea. They invented the first GUI operating system - that was the whole point of windows - to be user friendly and look good. They make a killing off of it. Now microsoft's had another great idea...they're gonna take the GUI off it again, and call it Server 2008 (even tho we all know it's just DOS!), and make even more of a profit!!
    DUH!!!!!

    Try CentOS...it's great for servers
