obviously you're wrong by saying that sun's market is different from Microsoft's. Microsoft DO produced server OS and are involve in midframe servers. Their relationship with Compaq enabled them to be considered to be in the same market as Sun. So Microsoft + Compaq = Sun, it's not completely right, but atleast it explain my case.

ok so you are saying server os don't need user friendly. Your points are correct but if there are a server os out there tat is flexible, yet user-friendly, would you choose any other os tat is flexible but with high learning curve? Obviously you will choose the former. And it's MS Windows 2000 i'm talking about. They're powerful server os and yet they are easy to administer. well, say me obsolute. but editing config files in ASCII-style is out of the style man, we use GUI config panel now. Making editing config files thing of the past.

well, ok so you still believe that java is a great product. OK i understand that. What I don't understand is, if Java is sooo gooood, why is there no one using it? I mean, when u search something (except java ofcouse) on google.com, how much web sites do you found uses java technology? 1 or maybe 2. The fact is they have not re-brand themselves (That their product have improved over the years is questionable.) So you can't blame people for having the worst thoughts with java. The thing is, people only remembers their bad experiences. Microsoft is different, they promote their products and they are finally successful in proving that their so-called NT-technlogy are infact stable are this is proved in Windows 2000 and XP. And do i have to mention their user friendliness?

I'm sorry to criticise McNeally... if you really think they have a great product so much so that they should have beat microsoft in the first place, (Note: to win, we need not just great products, we need user-friendly products, as microsoft does, unless u treat user friendliness as part of a criteria for a great product, which i do) fine. but as a microsoft programmer myself, i never like java (although i enjoy Javascript when VBScript don't cut it) and not because i never tried java before. They're great products, but they are dammed slow and is not very pratical for general use, unless you're talking about big corporations's internal network, which most prefer microsoft's technology anyway or Linux, or Netware. Never Sun. Sun, to be honest, is still trying to learn how to make user-friendly software, something which microsoft has get used to long time ago. User-friendly, in the first places, is what saved Micrsoft from drowning out of a copy-cat technology market, so to speak. In overall, i think comapanies still have a long way to go before they become a viable contentor to Microsoft. So when you ppl have learned your ABC (i mean user-friendliness), you can start criticisng microsoft, which, i have seen some have some degree of success. You know what i mean.

Till this day, if there are still 'thing' (i don't they deserve the name 'humnan' either) that believe microsoft has done any wrong-doing, Intentionally or UnIntentially, is just plain jealous of Microsoft's success. If you want to eliminate them, do it yourself! Forma linux user group! No one is going to care about what you do, cause what you do will be negligible. Microsoft is truly innocent. They donate, and they contribute, and yet they are being criticize for everything. Is it wrong to be a copy cat? If yes, can someone please kill the CEO of Toyota, Nissan, Honda or all japanese car makers please? cause they did not invent the car concept and yet they are earning trillions by selling eiropean cars with a japense car maker's logo. I've always been a supporter of microsoft because they are no reasons to believe they are evil anymore. I see more people die by criticizing Microsoft than people die by praising microsoft. McNeally? Oh come on, if you plan to criticize Microsoft make sure you have a great product, if not please keep you mouth closed. (i should have say 'sealed', but i respect him). and IBM, Oh, please go on and support your (it's not even yours) open source. I'll see in the end it's you or Microsoft that will earn the money. Good Luck.

  5. Comment - Microsoft Stay Denied

    (Aug 25, 2001 - 7:34 PM)

While it appear that Microsoft is trying to encoyrage people to use Internet Explorer more than Netscape. But what's the problem with that? It's the nature of competitive business. Imagine if you're a car maker. You made engine also. Will you use your own engines or your competitors? Sure you would use your own, since it is cheaper to do so. Only a fool here will use their competitor's engine. We only depend on thers if we don't have capabilit to do it. But when we have the ability, it's better to be self-dependent. Microsoft force consumers o upgrade? That's nonsense. They never force. They just ENCOURAGE. You can use windows 95 running Microsoft Office 95 if you want to. No one wants to force you. You just force yourself.

Ever since the rising of the napster. I've seen the power of consumers increasing. Consumer is King. Hpw true is it. Although some laws seem to favor the corporations' side, like the DMCA law that prevents copying, I've seen consumer becoming more powerful. Some even more powerful that the company itself. That's all I have to say. Please, think before you speak. Use our common sense. Don't biased before you learned.
