One big analysts' prediction from 2005 did come true after all: By 2009, the latest high-definition disc format would begin to show signs of post-maturity, even though the format war only ended this time last year. Smaller manufacturers are entering the Blu-ray field, testing the magic $200 price point at the very edge to see if lower-end consumers will bite.
Andy Parsons, who chairs promotions for the Blu-ray Disc Association, said during the Blu-ray press conference Thursday that only 21 Blu-ray titles included bonus features using BD-Live technology.

During the summer, South Korean CE maker LG debuted the first streaming Netflix-enabled Blu-ray player. Today, the company announced its Blu-ray players will receive content from more streaming partners.
