AOL Video Adds Paramount Movies, TV

AOL said Monday that it had added movie and television show downloads from Paramount Pictures to its Video site, bringing further content on top of deals already signed with 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, Universal Pictures and Warner Bros.

As with the deals with the other studios, the movie downloads would be available for prices ranging from $9.99 to $19.99 USD per movie. Currently, some 300 titles are already available from the service. The Paramount Deal would add more, including Failure to Launch, Breakfast at Tiffany's and others.

In addition to the movie agreement, AOL also said it had signed deals with five other partners to expand the breath of content available from the service. Shows from BlueHighways TV, The Employment & Careers Channel, The Hip Hop Hall of Fame, MyPath*TV and Plum would be available in the coming weeks.

"The new partnerships we are announcing today bring even greater breadth, depth and variety to our ever-growing library of high quality, branded content," AOL executive vice president Kevin Conroy said in a statement.

AOL Video debuted in late July and has since grown dramatically through the signing of several high-profile content deals. As well as providing streaming download and download-to-own videos, the site also hosts video search and user-generated content sections.
