Cartoon Network, CNN Join iTunes

Turner Broadcasting said Tuesday that it had added to Apple's iTunes programming from its CNN and Cartoon Network channels, including content from the popular 'Adult Swim' program block of the cartoon channel. The new content would be provided in addition to the free podcasts already offered by Adult Swim and CNN.

Among the content added includes the first season of Cartoon Network's "Johnny Bravo," popular Adult Swim cartoons Aqua Teen Hunger Force," "The Venture Bros.," and the third season of "Sealab 2021," and select programming from CNN's documentary series "CNN Presents."

Adult Swim has been offering select videos in podcast form for over a month, showing clips of new programming and behind-the-scenes content. The offering has been a big success -- on Tuesday it was ranked as the 17th most popular podcast. CNN has also been posting video podcasts of certain shows, including "Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer" and "Reliable Sources."

"Fans will enjoy this innovative way of purchasing and watching their favorite CNN, Cartoon Network and Adult Swim shows from iTunes," TBS business development executive vice president Dennis Quinn said. "We're delivering a variety of hit programming from three of our wildly popular networks, with shows for everyone of all ages."

Episodes on iTunes are available for $1.99 USD per download. With the addition of Cartoon Network and CNN, well over 150 television shows are now available from the service from three dozen networks.
