EASEUS Partition Master Home 8 now more at home on Windows 7
EASEUS Partition Master 8.0.1 has been released by Chinese software house EASEUS. The eighth major release of this popular partition tool boasts three notable new features, two of which are available in the freeware Home edition, while the third, an updated WinPE bootable disc option, is restricted to Professional and Server users only.
EASEUS Partition Master was one of the first freeware non-destructive partitioning tools to be released on the Windows platform, and allows users to partition their hard drives quickly and easily through a series of wizards, which allows them to create, delete, resize and move partitions.
The most notable change in EASEUS Partition Master 8.0.1 is that its user interface has been overhauled. Gone is the chunky XP styling of previous releases, and in its place is a slimmed down, semi-translucent interface more in keeping with the look and feel and Windows 7.
It's not just about looks either. The left-hand toolbar now dynamically changes based on the selected partition or drive to reveal which operations are supported, making it easy to see what can and can't be done.
The other major new feature helps to boost performance, and reduce the risk of data loss, when resizing or moving partitions. A brand new algorithm has been developed to improve performance across the board, but particularly when working with partitions where free space is at a premium.
The bootable rescue disc option, available only to those who purchase the Professional ($29.95) or Server ($159.00) Edition, has also been updated to WinPE 3.0, allowing users to rescue and partition their drives in the event that Windows fails to boot.
EASEUS Partition Master 8.0.1 Home Edition is available for free download now, and requires Windows XP, Vista or 7 (including full SP1 support). Demo versions of the Professional and Server editions are also available.
