Google Adds Movie Trailers to Search

Always endeavoring to expand the utility of its search engine, Google on Friday rolled out a new feature for movie seekers: trailers. Users can enter the film title and their zip code or city name to see nearby showtimes, critics' reviews and a link to the movie's trailer.

Trailers are hosted on Google Video, and if the theater has ticketing through Fandango, Google will also include links to purchase tickets. The addition follows a "movie:" operator Google added last year to its search, which brings up organized reviews of a flick from across the Web and calculates a film's combined rating.

And yet again, The Rat finds a way to rant about MS in a topic having absolutely nothing to do with them.

Can you at least *try* and stick to MS topics when on your anti-MS tears?

Ummm...Google has displayed Movie Times for ages. While the article says the videos are new (which is true), the article implies the showtimes are new, which is not the case. I have used Google to check showtimes for quite a while now.

See, here lays the difference between Google and
Microsoft.

If it was Microsoft, they would've announced the
new feature was coming in a few months ...and then
that would be the last you'd ever hear of it !

You're missing the point ...which ~wasn't~
moview trailers per se.

And, Microsoft was a different company in
1995. In 1995 they put out Win95, and three
years later, Win98.

They actually accomplished things !

Unfortunately, the main thing Microsoft
accomplishes any more is making
announcements of future accomplishments
as yet unaccomplished.

[ If you don't believe Bro. Rat, just watch
here in BetaNews how often Microsoft
announces things they're going to do some
time off in the distant and undefined
future. Then observe that most of these
promised accomplishments are never heard
about again ! ]

When they come out with Windows Vista in
2008 or 2009, we'll say they've finally really
had an accomplishment !
