Microsoft Hires Gentoo Linux Founder

The founder and former chief architect of Gentoo Linux, a so-called meta-distribution of Linux known for its adaptability, has joined the ranks at Redmond. Microsoft hired Daniel Robbins in late May, and he in turn has transferred Gentoo's intellectual property to the non-profit Gentoo Foundation.

"I'm helping Microsoft to understand Open Source and community-based projects," Robbins said regarding his move into the belly of the beast. Robbins had already taken a back seat role at Gentoo, which has established a strong developer and user community to rely upon.

i wounder.. maybe Add/remove programs might actually be add/remove/update/emerge programs :-P

now if only that didnt have the possiblity of windows spyware :(

hopefully this move is for the better of the tech industry. Time will tell.

First IBM then Microsoft.... big tags trying to learn from Open Source approach. One can only hope that benefits would flow both ways and not just another stunt to undermine competition.

Clearly, the big tags sofos will not become open source nerds' camps, but all this says a clear message: Open Source (especially Linux) is staying and shining.

Haha, I'm now downloading Gentoo 2005.0, AFTER failed to install the so-called leaked "Mac OS x86" on my AMD Duron pc. No idea of how to mount or read the iso -- it contains two files: 0KB OSLOAD.BIN & 977,920KB OSXROOT.RAW.

Who knows how to install Tiger x86? Should I burn it on a DVD or..? I just hv a CD-burner.. How about sth like virtual drive??? Pls help.

haha indeed.... this is a fake iso and on booting would display a very crude porn image (very disgusting).

Just delete this iso and try to read about new leaks before downloading.
