Perfect 10 Sues Microsoft for Infringement

By BetaNews Staff, BetaNews

Nude photography publisher Perfect 10 set its sights on Microsoft Thursday, saying it had filed suit against the company for reproducing its images in MSN Search without permission, as well as linking to other sites through its search engine that also commit copyright infringement and provide passwords to its Web site.

This lawsuit isn't a first for Perfect 10; the company has also sued both Google and Amazon for similar reasons, however both Internet companies have been successful in defeating the site's case on appeal. Neither Perfect 10 nor Microsoft were immediately available for comment.

I absolutely hate Microsoft, but I hope this fails, because it has no merit whatsoever.

All the search engines should de-list this crap company and then they'd see how many customers they'd get.

might be another type of marketing campaign. they sue, get there name out and it gets dismissed. instead of spending 100K on advertising, take out a suit that ends up costing 3-5K. They probably get the same amount of new business either way -- How about that for an angle!

No, it was developed and promoted by Google. It is how they get most of their money, but they won't let the DOJ see any of their files, so it cannot be confirmed or denied. This is also the reason why there is so much PORN on the internet. Both Google and the Pornography Industry have their links on the most sites.

....hahahah

Another suit by a failing company desperately clinging on to anything it thinks will get it some cash.

This seems like a stupid lawsuit, not sure how they are going to fault Microsoft, when yahoo, ask, dogpile, and every other search will typically bring up the same items.

99% of all lawsuits are stupid. It's why there are so many and why lawyers make so much money.

One would think that after the other failed attempts, they would just give up.

and the faulted them as well... the cases against yahoo and google have been dismissed as will this be in reference to the thmubnails.
as far as the passwords go if they are being referenced from another website its not mircosofts problem if somehow msn search is indexing the passwords to the website then that is an issue with the search provider
