Revamped FCC to initiate investigation of wireless competition, exclusivity

Similar to the inquiry it launched into the iPhone Google Voice rejection, the Federal Communications Commission today announced its intention to scrutinize the wireless telecommunications industry as a whole, to see if it encourages competition, innovation and investment, and if it is fair and open to consumers.
The Commission will take a vote on August 27 to decide whether it will proceed with the investigation, which seeks to "understand better the factors that encourage innovation and investment in wireless;" to determine "the status of competition in the mobile wireless market, including commercial mobile services;" and to "comment on whether there are opportunities to protect and empower American consumers by ensuring sufficient access to relevant information about communications services."
This will continue the Government's investigation into wireless exclusivity which both Congress and the Department of Justice have debated with industry leaders. In response to the congressional hearings, Verizon Wireless revised its exclusivity terms in July.
i dont like the way this country is going before we all know it the gov we be into every thing.
there try to look and act like there not but they are and we blind to the fact that we lose more and more rights
dont like the idea that big gov is all in to the big bussiness but big bussiness cant control there urges to gouge the consumer at every coner you turn there nickle and diming every one
should we have big gov look out for us or let the big corps police them selfs
which is the better of the two evils
all that i want from the gov is to stop these corps from messin with are services eg.
unlimited should be unlimited period. not some form of unlimited upto 250 gigs with overage charges unlimited is unlimited.
if you order a highspeed internet of (random numbers) they should not be advertin the most max of say dsl numbers 8mbit 1mbit does not mean that they should be able to provide sub standard service by chargin you for a more expensive service but only provide at best 5mbit and 786kb
if you get unlimited minute but can only use them at the 2am hour what the hell good are they
they need to list the absolute minume about of service and the max amont of service
stop trying to meter people so that they can charge more for content out side of there wall gardens
you would think that they learned from AOL which has been playing catch up to the rest of the world for years now
god im done ranting on this now im sick of it
you decide what is better gov control of every thing which i guess is
Socialist? or do something dont know what to do
maybe we can complain and whin like about the ballot screen for win 7 LOL

|Taking over is bad but controlling the companies isn't. The lack of control in most countries nowadays is inadmissible. The EC is a little more serious on that but still seems they lack effectiveness.
