SanDisk increases storage of View, Clip music players

The Sansa Clip and Sansa View, two of SanDisk's top selling products, received storage bumps today.

Sansa View and Clip

Its Clip is now 4 GB (up from 2 GB), while the Sansa View saw a 16 GB increase to 32 GB. Both products will be available next month, for a price of $79.99 USD for the Clip, and $349.99 USD for the Sansa View.

As more users begin to use their mobile phones as entertainment devices like music players, the need for additional capacity led SanDisk to release a 12 GB microSDHC card. The company's card is currently being tested by a number of manufacturers, and it anticipates shipping in March for North American consumers, and Europe and Asia shortly after.

Originally announced during a CES press unveiling event on Saturday, SanDisk officially introduced the Cruzer Titanium Plus 4 GB USB flash drive that automatically backs up all data saved on it. The password-protected online account allows users who lost or had their USB stolen to retrieve their data from the server.

The Cruzer Titanium Plus will be released in March with an MSRP of $59.99 USD.

Finally, the last notable announcement was the SanDisk Vaulter solid-stage storage solution designed to "work in conjunction with a PC's hard drive to store and launch the computer's operating system and software applications." Even though it was publicly announced today, details remain sketchy, with no known release date or pricing available.
