TiVo Debuts Ad Placement Service

TiVo has long been looking for ways to keep advertisers happy, and a new service introduced Tuesday is no exception. Companies will now be able to insert their ads to the TV series of their choice, or across multiple programs or a specific genre.

By inserting the ad at the end of the program, the DVR maker hopes that since there is nothing left to fast forward through, the user may take the time to watch the ad before moving on.

Several companies have already signed onto the offering through their respective ad agencies, including Burger King, General Motors, MasterCard, The Weather Channel and Court TV. These ads can be further enhanced by taking advantage of TiVo's other advertiser services.

"TiVo now can help advertisers effectively engage a target demographic audience while substantially countering the impact of fast-forwarding commercials," TiVo President and CEO Tom Rogers said.

"This new product allows advertisers to reach the most desired viewers by presenting tags prominently on the TiVo screen displayed at the end of a recorded program," he continued.
